WHO confirms 4 new cases of H5N1 avian flu

The World Health Organization has confirmed four additional human infections caused by the highly pathogenic Avian Influenza A (H7N9) virus within Seoul's Gangnam District since late March 2024. Among these new cases is one young girl who was hospitalized in a specialized pediatric unit, while another patient with pneumonia and underlying health issues has been admitted to an intensive care facility for treatment by medical teams at the local hospital complex.
