At the 98th Academy Awards held Sunday evening March 15 in Los Angeles Filipino-American cinematographer Autumnn Durlad Arkapauw made history by winning her first award. She became only second woman to win an oscar after Ryan Coogler's Sinners was released on Netflix and she is also the first person of color to receive this honor at all times being celebrated for their work as a cinematographer who has been recognized globally since 2019 when they started working with major studios like Warner Bros Pictures Distribution LLC along side other talented individuals including Ryan Coogler himself.
